Building Note:
The owners of this historic home decided to transform the roof over the garage into a lush green roof with attached patio area for expanded outdoor living space. The existing sculpture with its marble base were retained. This extensive green roof aids in water retention and visually expands the area.
Detail:
RD Herbert & Sons Company installed a loose laid TPO membrane over the existing roofing. A root barrier and drainage mat were applied over the membrane to complete the waterproofing system. A perforated shop-fabricated drain-box covered the existing roof drain, allowing access for maintenance. The growth media and plants were provided by GroWild Nursery.
