The two-ply Modified Bitumen roof system provides the waterproofing along with additional components of root resistance, drainage, and water retention. Wall flashings were covered with a soy-based reflective coating for aesthetic and environmental reasons. RD Herbert also fabricated and installed metal edging to add support to the rubber pavers and provide containment of the growth media in specific locations. Additional metal included 16-oz copper drip edge, copings, and curb covers. Our custom sheet metal shop fabricated and installed the 11 ga powder coated aluminum safety rail around the perimeter of the green roof. By utilizing all aspects of our company, roofing, sheet metal and custom metal, allowed smooth transitions from one phase to the next and limited the amount of different trades on the roof.
