The current RD Herbert & Sons building, at 1407 Third Avenue North, stands as a testament to the history and evolution of the company. When the city of Nashville purchased the previous office location at the foot of the State Capitol, Bobby Herbert selected the new site, architect, and the concept of using past and present company products in the construction of a new facility. Serving as a silent sales partner, the 26,000 square foot structure embraces clients and visitors with materials produced or marketed by RD Herbert & Sons Company as well as those from the original brick company, Bush Brick. It is a visual reminder of the company’s evolution with the current building showcasing the essence of our company.

| Office Exterior |
Beginning with the exterior, the brick masonry and concrete block exterior illustrate the fundamental product of the original firm, W.G. Bush & Co, founded just blocks from the site of this building. RD Herbert & Son's preeminent sheet metal shop produced and fabricated the company’s sign, along with many other architectural details such as the stainless steel columns, fascia, metal wall panels, and hand railings that wrap the building’s exterior. |

Even the roofs showcase the expertise of RD Herbert & Sons Company. One roof is standing seam copper, another area is ballasted EPDM, and the canopy of the front entrance displays a newly installed green roof system.

| Second Floor Lobby |
Once inside, visitors are greeted with a spectrum of adapted building materials from the slate floors and stairway to the stainless steel clad and brass accented reception desk in the second-floor lobby. Exposed ceilings reveal natural wood planks and spiral ductwork fabricated and installed by our sheet metal craftsmen. Walls capped with formed metal coping separate offices and provide clients a display of various methods of seams. Second floor offices open to a paver patio which serves as an outdoor break room with tables, chairs, container gardens and a walking track. Without uttering a word, the RD Herbert & Sons building says it all. We invite clients to visit our facility during the selection process to view the building materials and their adaptations and visualize them for their project. |
